As we enter the new year, Clinique IDN – Institut de Décompression Neurovertébrale (Neurovertebral Decompression Institute) reminds you of six good habits to adopt to keep your back healthy:
1 – To avoid injuring yourself when bending over to lift heavy objects, avoid arching your back and bend your legs.
2- To prevent lower back pain and sciatica, stretch your back regularly. For example, sit on the floor with your legs stretched out and gently try to touch your toes.
3- Exercise regularly (walk at least 30 minutes a day) and, above all, be mindful of your posture.
4- Eat healthily to get the energy you need and the right amount of nutrients and vitamins to help you develop strong muscles that can support your back.
5- When carrying your shopping bags, keep them close to your body; do not carry them at arm’s length.
6- When sitting on a chair or at your desk, make sure you are sitting back in your seat with your back straight and your feet flat on the floor.
Of course, if you have difficulty putting our prevention methods into practice, enjoying your favorite activities, or performing daily tasks without experiencing pain, then don’t hesitate to contact a back health professional.
To contact us, write to us or call us at 1-877-OPTIDOS (1-877-678-4367).
